chaton roses Shaping and polishing:

All facets of a stone are machine pressed and polished by fire or by means of a chemical treatment.  (type Chaton roses, Extra Chaton roses)

Cutting:

Only bottom table is machine cut and polished, the upper table and facets are polished by fire or by means of a chemical treatment.

Hot fixes (iron-on):

Hot fix (Iron-on) is flat-back chaton rose with a special adhesive applied to its alluminium layer. Typically are fixed to fabrics by heat and pressure.

Sizes of fascion jewellery stones and beads are given in various units:
Round stones : SS (Stone Size); PP (Pearl Plate); MM

Other Stones and beads : MM
The dimension in the direction of the hole is given first for beads and pendants.

Foiling:

To obtain maximum brilliance a mirror layer with lacker and alluminium pigment is applied to the bottom of the stone.

A silver mirror is coated with a protective layer of lacquer with an aluminium pigment. Usually applied to flat-back stones and chatons in crystal AB

The mirror effect is created by an aluminium layer applied by means of a vacuum coating process. Usually applied to 3/4 balls.
